Character Redesign: M-Sen

Still playing around with how to do this new style and what not, and that I've been meaning to redesign this character (who I was originally going to use for an OCT but ended up not applying because of exhaustion) for some time.

Anyway! M-Sen is an old character, created way back in 2007 for a project called Mega Paradox created by Skytric, way back when we used to hangout on a Mega Man fan forum called Atomic Fire. Mega Paradox was a... X-ish fangame if I remember correctly, where the characters, good and bad, were based on the forum users. Skytric asked me (as I had been part of his other fangame project Megaman Skyra, and just being generally active on that forum) if I wanted to be in the game and what side I wanted to be part of. I simply said "put me on whichever has less people" and was put on the list of good guys and playable characters. Her playstyle (the game was going to have a lot of air navigating in it) was going to be hookshot based as you would shoot out her crescent shaped weapon that you would lead to her surface and she would fly the way, and in battle she was close to mid ranged and had lots of aoe attacks.

But that's the old M-Sen, let me tell you about the new M-Sen, completely outside of the Mega Paradox universe.

Megan Sentury (with a "u" almost completely silent) was a high spirited and stubborn woman who lived a pretty casual life. That was of course before everything went to shit. Out of the blue, a big, world wide alien invasion happened and the human specimen was at risk of getting eradicated. It didn't really help either that it was several factions of aliens attacking, leaving the humankind to having to face different kinds of problems. Some countries suffered from having their more advanced technology getting controlled and some had the specimen land and attack personally.

Megan faced, quite literally, with parasites. Parasites whose goal was to infect and take over the human body and turn them into monsters to destroy each other while also slowly being consumed by it. What this alien faction didn't realize though, was that there were people well capable to fighting off the parasites mind controlling venom. Megan was one of these. She was extremely determined to not let herself be consumed and spent well over a week just trying to keep the creature out of her head before she was found and rescued by scientists who had managed to contain a seperate specimen and studied it to a point where they had created a temporary remedy in the form of a chip that had to be implanted under her skin (placed in her neck, opposite side of what we see). With the parasite now docile and completely under Megan's control. She met up with other people in her situation and got some training on how she could use the parasite to fight back.

There was a problem though. Ted (a nickname given to the parasite by Megan, much to most peoples dismay) was hungry, it needed to eat. It needed organic matter and if it wasn't fed, it would feed on Megan's arm. Luckily, Megan learned, from first hand experience, that it wasn't against cannibalism of its own kind. Megan, now calling herself M-Sen for some reason, decided to hunt for more parasites, specifically those having just begun infecting other humans in hope of saving them.

But what will she do once she saved them all? What will she do once she can't feed Ted more parasites? And what will happen, should the chip keeping Ted dormant break?

Designwise, I went with my prefered style of design, overall simple with some, imo, fun details. I had a different design, more reminisent of her old incarnation (from 2007) and the design Skytric made a few years ago (from 2014). But again, this design is intended to not be related to the Mega Paradox universe.

There is a another old character that also resides in this universe. Humoursly enough, he too originated as a Mega Man related character (actually as an outright ZX fan character). I have been working on a redesign of him as well, so who knows, maybe he'll be next to pop up?
